It is my great pleasure to invite you to honor your own Self by donating to this season’s fundraising campaign, themed “In Honor Of.”
One of my favorite things to do is to honor my Guru by bowing. I love being at Lokananda and sitting at my Guru’s feet. When I visit, I bring all my small-s-self stuff, yet bowing to Gurudevi shifts me.
As I sink into the floor at her feet and she brushes her peacock feathers on me, I feel the release of all that keeps me small. It is as if I leave it on the floor at her feet.
When I lift my head and body up and look into her eyes, I know my own Self. She sees who I am. Her Grace opens me up and allows me to know my own Divinity. Nothing can compare with this experience.
I have come to realize that bowing to Gurudevi is bowing to my own Self — the One Self being me, being her, being all. During this process, I am able to know that within myself is the One Self. It’s like her Baba taught:
Meditate on your Self; worship your Self; honor your Self; bow to your Self. Your God dwells within you as you.

The practice of dakshina, selfless giving, like all our Svaroopa® yoga practices, offers you the knowing of your own Self. This is why it always brings me pleasure to invite you to join me in the practice of dakshina.
Donate today in honor of someone who has made a difference in your life. In donating, you do not only honor that person. You also honor the teachings, you honor the lineage, and you honor your own Self. Your donation honors the One being all.
